Terms of use

These terms apply to Quill & Bind (the studio), provided by David Gray Design Ltd, trading as Quill & Bind (we). By creating an account you accept these terms.

The service

The studio helps you write, illustrate and lay out colouring books, and makes print files for Amazon KDP and other printers. The studio does not publish books for you. You upload the files to the printer yourself.

Your account

• You must be 18 or over to create an account.
• Keep access to your email address secure. Anyone who can read your email can sign in to your account.
• You are responsible for what is made with your account, including by an assistant (ChatGPT or Claude) that you connect.

Subscription and credits

• All prices include VAT at 20%.
• The subscription is paid monthly in advance, through Stripe. It renews each month until you cancel it.
• Each month of the subscription adds credits to your account. A picture drawn by the studio uses credits. The Billing page shows the current prices and credit costs.
• Credits from the subscription and from credit packs do not expire while your account is open. Credits have no cash value and are not refunded when you close the account.
• A picture that fails to draw is refunded in credits automatically.
• You can cancel at any time on the Billing page (Manage billing and invoices). The subscription stays active until the end of the period that is paid.
• If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU, you can cancel within 14 days of the first payment for a full refund, if you have not used credits from that payment. Write to support@mylne.com.
• We can change the prices. We tell you by email at least 30 days before a change applies to your subscription.

Your content

• You own the stories, characters and pictures that you make with the studio, as far as the law allows. We claim no rights in them, except the rights needed to store them and show them to you.
• Pictures are drawn by AI models (OpenAI). AI pictures can resemble existing work. Check each picture before you publish it.
• You are responsible for meeting the content rules of the printer or shop where you publish.

Photos of people

You can make a character from a photo. Upload a photo only if you took it, or have the permission of the person in it. For a child, you must have the permission of a parent or guardian. The photo is deleted when the character is approved.

Acceptable use

Do not use the studio to make content that is illegal, sexual, hateful or violent, or that infringes the rights of others. Do not try to get around the credit system or the security of the studio. We can suspend an account that breaks these rules.

Availability and liability

We provide the studio as it is. We try to keep it available, but we do not guarantee that it is always available or free of errors. Keep your own copies of your exported files. Our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Closing your account

You can delete your account on the Account page. This cancels the subscription and deletes your books, characters and pictures. We can close an account with 30 days notice, or at once if these terms are broken.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the law of the country where you live. Contact: support@mylne.com.
